Forgive me, please!!!
It has been way too long since I wrote a blog entry as BC3’s proud president. And to make matters even worse, the subject of my latest blog is from an event that took place on May 1!
On May 1, the College recognized recent retirees, past retirees, years of service and recipients of a new award – the “Above and Beyond Award.”
Over 130 people attended the event held in Founder’s Hall. Susan Changnon, our Executive Director of Communications and Marketing, did her usual fantastic job of introducing the honorees. A video interview of most who were being recognized brought laughter and even some tears. Read the rest of this entry »

It is with great enthusiasm that I share with you the 2013 President’s Timeline.
This is the second edition of the new, online format and replaces the printed President’s Annual Reports. The timeline chronicles BC3’s achievements and successes of the past year. So many of you are represented here, along with your programs, awards and news stories. I am sure you will enjoy the live links to photos, videos and news articles.
You can share this with your friends, family and business colleagues.
Finally, please feel free to let me know what you think by using the Feedback tab on the timeline. Please email me directly should you have other questions, comments or concerns.

(L to R): Adam Smith, SVA President; Ian Schuelke, SVA Officer, Commander Richard Riley, American Legion Post 778; Jason Brannon, SVA Officer; Nick Neupauer, BC3 President; Case Willoughby, Vice President for Student Services; and Kyle Bodkin, SVA Officer in front of the Memorial Banner at the Veterans Lounge Grand Opening.
As the history of Butler County Community College is eventually told, the fall of 2013 will forever be known as our semester of “ribbon cuttings” and “grand openings.”
On September 17, the College announced a partnership with Butler Armco Credit Union when it opened a fully-functional branch in our Student Success Center on main campus. The Armco Credit Union branch employs students from our Business Division and is open to staff, students and community members. The space is state-of-the-art with technology, private meeting space and serves as a natural compliment to our “one-stop-shop” approach. Read the rest of this entry »

Is there a more beautiful time than autumn on our Main Campus? The leaves, chill in the air and even the smell indicates that fall is here. I just love seeing our students wearing their BC3 gear as they joyfully make their way across campus.
Over 100 student came from all of our BC3 locations to be recognized Saturday at our Annual Legacy Dinner with various scholarships from the BC3 Education Foundation, Inc. This semester, 88 scholarships were awarded to 133 students totaling $140,000. Out of those students, 34 received the President’s Scholarship.
The 2013 BC3 Distinguished Alumni were also honored at the Legacy Dinner. They are: Read the rest of this entry »

President Neupauer and his wife Tammy with the 2013 Chamber Champion Award at the Celebrate Business Dinner on Wednesday, September 11.
What a GREAT start to the Fall 2013 semester!
Many people have told me there seems to be a certain “buzz” in the air on all of our campus locations.
Enrollment is up – BC3 is one of the few public institutions to have an increase. All of our campus locations look beautiful, including our newest, BC3 @ Brockway in Jefferson County.
Last week, our Main Campus community, led by many of Professor Chris Calhoun’s students, pitched in for a clean-up day. The primary focus was sprucing up the Imhoff Trail, a wooded, 1.5 mile pathway that starts behind the old observatory. The end result: an even more beautiful Main Campus! Often, I am proud of Butler County Community College. Earlier this week was yet another time.
Our Communications and Marketing staff shined at the annual National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) conference held in Pittsburgh.
Staff members Susan Changnon, Jessica Matonak and Dennis Birkes – who teamed up with me – all made presentations to the audience of over 70. Those in attendance represented community colleges from the northeast. Read the rest of this entry »
